Fabrics constitute an important part of home decoration, from sofas and chairs to headboards and sheets, to cushions, blankets, and tablecloths. We have studied in depth the commonly used fabrics for home furnishings, their uses, and styling and maintenance techniques.
Commonly used fabrics in home decoration:
1. Natural fabrics. Made from natural fibers and usually derived from animal or plant-based sources.
2. Synthetic fabrics. Made using chemical processes and synthetic fibers, it is stronger and more durable than 100% natural fabrics.
3. Blended fabric. Blends from natural and synthetic fibers are made into a considerable number of fabrics, giving the materials the advantages of both.
Of all the surfaces in the home that require maintenance, fabrics are the most troublesome. We interact the most with the fabric-covered surface, which captures the most dust and dirt, and over time, the dirt layer becomes more and more difficult to clean. Therefore, regular maintenance is essential. This is the best time to perform maintenance because, in the Indian summer, even the heaviest fabrics will quickly dry out.
