Use of decorative fabrics

Decoration fabrics add interest and ambience to the room. Layered fabric texture is a basic decorating technique that should be used in all rooms. You can create spaces that are simple, effortless and very welcoming by mixing your fabrics and adding some sheer fabric, a bit of faux fur fabric or a piece of quilted fabric.

Even with commercially available fabrics, creative bugs can bite and make you want to decorate even more. Depending on the impact you want to achieve, the techniques available are nearly endless. Some decorations, like paintings or collections, are permanent, while others, like needlework and decals, can be removed and replaced for a new look.

Factors such as laundering, maintenance and durability must be considered when selecting materials. For frequent use, you should choose durable, washable materials. You can use more delicate fabrics where you won't be in direct contact with the fabric. Textured fabrics often add depth to a space.
